Bio:


Lo Younge (b. 2002, Boulder, CO) is a Baltimore-based painter, drawer, fiber artist, and garment-maker.
He received his BFA in Painting from the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) in 2025, with a minor in
Experimental Fashion. Younge’s work explores themes of gender, myth, sexology, and transgender identity
through a bestiary of animals and beasts. His oil paintings depict chimeras, gorgons, and other creatures
undergoing fantastical, often involuntary transformations—spectacularizing bodily anxieties and anomalies.

Influenced by post-structuralist thought and Donna Haraway’s Cyborg Manifesto, Younge pastiches
mythological and medieval imagery with contemporary medical and psychological iconography to challenge
conventional boundaries of the body and self. He has exhibited in group shows in Baltimore and Washington, DC,
including at Touchstone Gallery. Recent exhibitions include his solo show Green is a Luxury + at 
Gateway Gallery (MICA), and Preakness 150: Best in Show (2025) at Maryland Art Place.
